sew what?

Todays table had a sewing machine on it. I failed to take the photo.
One of my struggles is sewing. My Mom denies this but one time she told me that there were 2 situations where it was okay to curse. One was sewing. I can not remember the other one. Maybe  when you stub your toe??? I tend to agree.

some days its empty

A new phenomenon around my house, as of late, is the empty table. When I started this blog a few years back, I had at least one, maybe 2 or three, possibly 4 daughters at home and our table was always cluttered with good things. Somehow, I lost track of this blog and never posted the pics that were supposed to go on here. Pics featuring mementos of those days gone by when our table was full. I would sometimes get frustrated with my girls for leaving everything on the table. Now, I kind of miss it.  I was lamenting to myself, earlier in the eve, how lonely an empty table appears. As I  lamented I received a text from my youngest requesting a recipe for a favorite of hers. I laughed to myself that although the table is empty, the stuff that happened around that table, the meals shared, continue on through the making of Salmon Patties. Table empty, heart full.

P.S. As a child I lamented Salmon Patties. Love them now

Today's Table

A friends Eulogy. My husband is delivering the euolgy of his dear friend this week. Any time we ever discussed him, throughout the years, we would always say," He is a beautiful man." And he was.
